Texas has a volitile climate, with big swings in temperature and precipitation. Also they have been known to get tornadoes, sometimes quite deadly. None of this is anything new, it’s the nature of the beast. That should be common knowledge for anyone that has lived there.
That’s the trouble. She has been in Lubbock for only 5 years. I have lived in the same central Texas city all of my 49 years. The only thing I can point to that has changed is that dust storms have been very rare during the past 30 years of warming. The late 60s and the 1970s had several dust storms every year. I’m located along I-35 north of Austin and south of Waco. Pretty far from west Texas but we used to see sand from west Texas pretty often during the “global cooling fear” years.
I will not be surprised if they return during the next 30 years of cooling.
I don’t think how long KH has been in Texas has anything to do with what she says, or the facts, or reality. She knows what butters her bread, and gives power to the “right” people.
I lived in Texas for much of my life. Texas is known for it’s summer thunderstorms which can dump 25 cm (10 inches) of rain on one spot and leave the ground dry only a mile away. With these conditions, an “average” rainfall must be taken over many, many years to be meaningful. Temperature distributions are similarly heterogeneous, with a 25°C (77°F) day giving way to an inch of ice (hail) on the ground in minutes, and weather fronts that can change the temperature +/- 30°C (56°F) in a half hour.
“Why Does Katherine Hayhoe Keep Lying About Texas?”
Cause it’s good for business.
That is what brings in the money!

She’s not lying, she’s ‘advocating’ for ‘the children’, and using the ‘precautionary principle’.
Frankly, I don’t think she is bright enough to lie.
I think you meant that 2011 was not as hot as 1921 0r as dry as 1917. 2012 has been warm and humid so far ….
