Imagining a world without the tea party
What bills could have passed in a tea-party-free America? For one, some kind of climate legislation to limit national greenhouse-gas emissions could have moved. One massive problem with the cap-and-trade bill that passed the House in June 2009 was that Democrats faced angry crowds at home when they defended it.

I suggest we rename the occupiers as the Teat Party!
Groan.
I like “Flea Party’ better.
Yeah, it was the same Tea Party that shut down HillaryCare in 1993, too. I mean, except that they didn’t have a name then. But I doubt the J-school water-heads at the WaPo remember anything that actually happened in the 1990s.
liberals are not independents……
The independents the media keeps talking about are the vast right leaning majority.
The 75% that didn’t vote for Obambi……….

The TEA party does deserve much of the credit for that. This nation owes them a debt of gratitude.

Tipsy Rick needs to save us now. The Tea Party can save us now by voting for this guy.
lol, Brian, get off of us drunks! I didn’t watch all 25 minutes of that, but for the first minute, he wasn’t tipsy. But, so what if he was. In my drunkest state, I could govern better than Barry.
The great problem our “Liberal” fascists had in defending Rape & Pillage – sorry, that’s “Impoverish & Unemploy”…or “Death by Hypothermia”…or was it “Fat Albert’s Multibillion Buck Boondoggle”?
Well, whatever we call that unspeakable Waxman-Markey National Socialist “screw-the-whole-friggin’-economy to no possible environmental benefit” mountain of legislative toxic waste, the big cockroach in the Blue Faction’s enchilada is that the cost/benefit analysis was so hideously adverse that even the average American voter – who is defined as “smart enough to remember where the polling places are, but dumb enough to think that when he gets there, he’s gonna have any real choice” – could figure out that it was nothing more than a scheme to jack up the prices of absolutely everything he (or she) needs to live.
And “catastrophic” global warming – which does not seem ever to have been caused by human emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in any way at all. as a matter of fact – quit happening altogether in 1998.
Gawd, it’s a wonder of civil comity and public restraint that those National Socialist Democrat American Party (NSDAP) congresscritters didn’t come home to crowds equipped and ready to use tar and feathers and lengths of rope suitable for hanging their “representatives” from suitable trees or lampposts.
Not that this lively form of feedback isn’t still both warranted and appropriate.
If we can’t get “term limits” in a manner that permits each of these incumbents to “spend more time with his family,” might be we’ll have to see about arranging for their mortal remains to get acquainted with the worms.
Right damn quick.
