Southwest Winters Getting Colder And Wetter

The permanent drought region of the US southwest has been having colder and wetter winters over the last 15 years. Wolf Creek Ski area had the earliest opening on record this year, and Lake Powell water levels have increased 80 feet since 2004.

Wolf Creek Breaks Record with October 8th Opening!
Roughly 1,500 skiers and snowboarders made the trip for opening day at Wolf Creek today. Excitement was in the air as the people amassed early, vying for the first lift tickets with hopes of the first lift ride in Colorado, on possibly the earliest opening date in Colorado history.

    According to some weather progs, Dr. Hayhoe in West Texas could have snow to shovel off her sidewalk before Halloween.
