Nearly every alarmist web site in the world claims that the Northern Hemisphere is seeing “declining snow cover.”
In fact, snow cover has been increasing for almost 25 years, and is almost exactly at the 55 year mean. Winters snow extent has been near record highs recently.
Same old stuff. They start the chart in the mid 1960s, during the midst of the unusual cold, snowy period that took place between 1960 and 1980, to give the impression that it has been less snowy since. Yes, it has been a little less snowy since the coldest period of the 20th Century, but again, most if not all that decrease is just back to pre 1960 normals.
