This time – it is your fault. And it is hurting the cute little babies.
Harp seal pups are taking a hit due to global warming, according to the first study of its kind.

Somewhere, there is someone, that does nothing but look up studies….
….looking for anything that has never been done before
And getting paid to do it……….
This is “Gubmint Science” at its finest.
Somewhere, there is someone, that does nothing but make shit up – and then makes up the shit that “proves” the bullshit theory. And these taxpayer-funded pricks are dreaming this shit up your dime.
“A seal walks into a club… “
LOL.
“the first study of its kind”
No. There have been no end to stories of this “kind.”
The seal hunt is dead because of green peace, and because of their success in that campaign, it sounds to me like this seal bullshit will be their poster child for their AGW carbon bullshit now. Good luck with that.
I was really hoping that the disappearing Polar Bear threat would make my dream of cheap seal skin gloves a reality but once again Mother Nature is Screwing Me !

Fisheries and Oceans Canada says: The harp seal population in Canada has grown from less than 2 million in the early 1970s to approximately 9 million today.

Perhaps the 2011 hunting quota of 468,200 seals had something to do with ‘the big hit’ on populations?
“Without thick, solid ice expanses, seal babies drown or are crushed by broken-up chunks of ice…”
What garbage – floating chunks of ice are ideal conditions for baby seals. Here’s a report from the “wrath of God” period:
“THE GREAT SEAL HUNT OF 1872.
The young seals are born on the ice about the middle of February; and as they grow very rapidly and contain a purer oil than the old ones, they are chiefly sought after by the hunters. By the middle of March they are fat and in perfect condition. The Arctic current, setting out of Baffin’s Bay, bears on its bosom hundreds of square miles of floating ice, which are carried past our shores. Somewhere amid these floating masses the seals brought forth their young, who remain during the first period of their growth on the ice, for five or six weeks, before taking to water.”

Once again – National Geographic making shit up. I’m glad I cancelled my subscription to this scurrilous rag!
NG: “For the harp seals, “good ice is about 30 to 70 centimeters [12 to 28 inches] thick and covers 60 to 90 percent of the water…”
“THE NEWFOUNDLAND SEAL HUNTERS
Returning, they mount the ice about the end of February, in the neighbourhood of the Straits of Belle Isle. The Harps select young and freshly frozen ice and large flat pans. Through these they bore themselves holes which they keep constantly open, and by them enter and leave the water at will.”

LOL – seals boring holes through 28 inches of ice without a pick. The Canadians should probably get out of their offices a bit more and do some REAL research occasionally.
What did I do with my baseball bat???
Dying baby seals sell well to soccer moms, doesn’t matter if they are thriving, Greenpeace will get donations.
That’s why they have their headquarters in Europe!
