“All the mindless garbage that we can fit in print”

In the Land of Denial

Never mind that nearly all the world’s scientists regard global warming as a serious threat to the planet, with human activities like the burning of fossil fuels a major cause. Never mind that multiple investigations have found no evidence of scientific manipulation. Never mind that America needs a national policy. Mr. Perry has a big soapbox, and what he says, however fallacious, reaches a bigger audience than any scientist can command.
The National Enquirer is a far more reliable source of information these days.
Nearly all the world’s scientists think that the sun revolves around the Earth, that the Earth is flat, that continents don’t move, blah blah blah etc.
If they all thought there’s no such thing as gravity, would we all suddenly float off into space?
Fear sells news.
I find the most reliable news stories theses days at:

New York Slimes, propaganda arm of the state (only when Socialists are in charge). Domestic enemy of the people. The paper of treason.
For starters, someone should send them a copy of “The Deniers”.
A more subtle approach might be to ask them whether S. Schneider was hallucinating when he wrote his PNAS article about deniers.
I am a working PhD scientist and am proudly not one of “nearly all the world’s scientists”. One wonders what they make of the 9000 odd PhD’s that signed the Oregon petition – and that is in the US only.
The NYT is getting more like a religious tract every day. I hope they recify it before it fails due to lack of readers.
