There is an incredible amount of misinformation in this video. The first problem is that it starts in 1884, not 1880. But the real problem is that much of their land data is not from any known source.
I overlaid the land coverage of GISS 1884 (green below) on the animation frame from 1884. Note the great detail in the animation over Africa, South America, and central Asia – where they had no data. In Antarctica they had no data at all, yet drew in a tremendous amount of completely fraudulent detail! The first land based exploration of Antarctica didn’t even occur until 1892. Outside of Australia, they only had three or four land based thermometers in the entire southern hemisphere.
They must be using 5,000 km smoothing with highly detailed imaginary sub-smoothing.

Steven, question. Did you take down the we have moved link from your old site? Old habits are hard to die. I use to just go to the old site then just click the new. Until a couple of days ago I had not bookmarked the new site. There are three post now from February 9 2012 and then goes to September 2011 after. When you Google Real Science the old site still comes up first. Anyone searching for you may come to the conclusion that you just don’t update that often and may dismiss you. For a couple of days thats what happened to me until I said somethings not right here. The first day I thought you were just having issues with the site. The second day I remembered you said you were traveling and said maybe that’s it and the third I figured it out. Just sayin.

Amazing what you can do with statistics. You can even tell what the weather is like in Antacrtica from three stations, just like you can tell who is going to win the US election by polling 3 people in China.

The really sad thing here is that the average modern ‘dude’, who has been educated into outcomes-based-education, will assume that the ‘experts’ used the data they had and used some kind of model of the world to ‘good-guess’ the rest.
The real problem is, of course, that Hansen and Co are LYING. The assumption of trustworthiness, or rather the refusal to grasp that hippies are psychotic fanatics who LIE, underlies the mentality of so very many people who then think (which is somewhat reasonable to do under assumption of trustworthiness) the anti-AGW’s are all ‘conspiracy nuts’, or suchlike.
So I say to you all, yet again: this is an ideological war against the leftists-hippies – fact, logic and reason means NOTHING to them – and until they are forced face 2 face with the sharp tip of the specific knife of this specific truism, they WILL ultimately be victorious – and their goal is global dehumanization.
