Almost half of US states set their record high temperature during the 1930s, which we now know was actually very cold. Colder than during the ice age scare of the 1970s. Only one state set its high temperature record during the hottest decade in Earth’s history, the most recent one.

I must be confused. If I question the hypothesis of AGW, I am a climate denier. But if I question the official high recorded by a meteorologist yesterday, I am a climate expert?
I think you have to question the findings of former or better, dead, meteorologists in order to achieve “Expert” status.
Thanks for putting all that together Steve. The earth’s climate has obviously been warmer than now at times and cooler at other times; extreme weather is also nothing new as your numerous examples show. If the recent warming is man-made it has yet to be shown and the continual hype from academics and the media doesn’t convince me. This is the same demographic that still thinks socialism is a good idea after about a hundred years of murder, misery and failure caused by hard core leftists.
Speaking of misery, as many skeptics have pointed out, a colder climate generally causes more hunger and premature death than a warmer climate.
This doesn’t ever seem to occur to global warming alarmists.
We face far greater challenges ahead than climate change – armed conflict for one. Human history shows this to be one of our greatest dangers. If we in North America wreck our economies even more than we already have by pursuing impractical energy policies we won’t be able to defend ourselves against any potential enemies. Human nature isn’t as easy to change as liberals and leftists would like to think.
Something else that has me wondering…
I was a teenager in the 70′s. I remember the reports of global cooling. But when I look at those graphs, they show it was warming quite rapidly in the 70′s when the meteorologists of the time were saying it was getting cooler.
Was meteorology in the 70′s no better than “voodoo science”? Or is something else going on here?
Maybe Muller slipped up and used the anal thermometer data instead of the oral themometer data. lol.

Besides, none of the above is inconsistent with global warming.

Now when the WaPo and our “The Age” start printing some of those stories and start questioning how the heat in the 30s disappeared from the BEST paper we will know that we have indeed turned a corner. It is understandable that the flagwavers are leaping on everything and anything that may confirm their beliefs as they will have much explaining to do in the next few years.

For those who don’t know him, this is the same Muller of Nemesis fame, who invented an entirely unreal STAR – IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM. Nemesis cannot be seen, and there has never been ONE empirical piece of evidence that it exists – it is all in Muller’s numbers.
And he is the ‘expert’ who vets the work of other chalartans, using their previously adjusted data – none of which he challenged in any way. So, he took post-massage numbers and Voila! he came up with the same graphs they did (well, close enough so’s it doesn’t matter).
I have no respect for the man’s science. He got in at a prestigious national lab when he was young and he’s been riding that his whole recently ended career. Kind of like a parallel to Phil Jones, he is a perfect example of The Peter Principle. (Google it…)
