According to the US Navy, the area of 3+ metre thick ice has doubled since last autumn. This agrees with NSIDC graphs which show an increase in the area of thick multi-year ice.
By contrast, the PIOMAS model shows that Arctic ice has thinned since last year and is on a trend to zero by 2016. Alarmists love to refer to PIOMAS,
even though because it appears to be fatally flawed.
