Despite historically large releases from the dam this year, Lake Powell is up 85 feet from the same date in 2004 – when Gavin’s Lake Powell cover photo (below) was taken. Gavin said that Lake Powell faced permanent drought.

    I am certainly glad to see the water level tapering off as I was concerned that Lake Powell would flood Denver at the rate is was rising for a while!

    Gavin is exactly like our resident drought catastrophist down here in Oz, Professor Tim Flannery. Flanners predicted permanent drought and water shortages. What happened? Floods, natch. Just like they always happen in Oz after periods of drought. Put Flanners together with Gavin and it’s like the blind leading the deaf IMHO.
