One of the world’s iconic climate researchers, James Hansen of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, warned Sunday at a symposium in Vancouver that worldwide fossil fuel combustion is pushing the planet out of the Holocene epoch which ended about 12,000 years ago with the retreat of the Ice Age.
Recent temperature trends, compared to average temperatures during the Holocene, are pushing higher and without reduction in fossil fuel combustion (which causes greenhouse gas to accumulate in Earth’s atmosphere), the world wil shift into a new, warmer epoch.
People in Winnipeg will be devastated. You can see the highly alarming warming trend below.

The only thing that’s warming up is the empty cavity between Jimmy “Handcuffs” Hansens ears.
I wonder what the Global Warming Potential of the smoke coming out of his ears is?
Canada is 90% uninhabited because it is too cold. A little extra warmth should thus not destroy them.
I think Hansen may qualify for tax exempt status. Clearly he is preaching, and not seeking truth. There is no scientific basis for his claim of man made CO2 bringing on a warmer climate.
Sorry Canada.
Stop denigrating Winnipeg’s climate. Yes its winter lasts five or six months, but Canada had a near perfect environment until man-made global warming began to destroy the delicate ecosystems of its tundras and prairies. If Winnipeg’s climate is so bad why do all the birds fly north in the fall?
remember, your talking about BC, where they elected the only Green candidate to our Federal Gov’t. I’m sure there are a lot of believers out there, but hopefully more non believers of the ’cause’….
I hope Hansen has picked up some communication tips and applied them during his talk. He would certainly connect with his audience more if he wore his hip boots and looked something like this.

It shows that he is serious and not taking NYC being under water lightly.
