He will leave jail and return to his cozy, modern, luxurious lifestyle of electricity, automobiles, heating, air conditioning and cellphones. In the USA you number from 25% to 30% of the population. From what I hear in Europe there is probably at least twice that percentage. Numerically it is many millions of people, perhaps even 50% of all people everywhere on Planet Earth.

Such numbers mean one simple thing – you already have the power to change the world significantly in a very simple way without affecting us normal people, all you need to do is voluntarily go Amish and it’s done! If half the population of the planet, all of you blathering insufferable malcontents simply went Amish and completely swore off technology, plus all your well-publicized pet peeves like meat, tobacco, oil, coal, nuke, war, etc., a huge change would be effected. You would save Mother Earth and it would not cost a dime. This effect would be far larger than any change you could ever achieve involuntarily through legislation and coercion (which you can never achieve anyway because of our determined resistance).

None of us would stop you and in fact we would aid in your effort of de-industrializing yourselves when you sell your cars and limos and beach houses, computers and cellphones, iPads and TV’s, by taking them off your hands for a fair price. This entire proposition is a win-win for everyone.

So what exactly are you waiting for? And why instead of simply doing this voluntary plan do you insist on trying to drag us into your insanity?

  Amish Culture and lifestyle is much to advanced and not truly in harmony with nature. I suggest they move to a remote location with no baggage and live off the land. They should do it in groups to not overly affect the region. Death Valley CA is an ideal region as are northern Greenland and The Antarctic continent!
  Even if they only did one year visitations in those regions, sans everything produced by modern technology, they would greatly contribute to their cause by leading the way for other believers!

  I have an idea for Antarctica. Lets rename her ‘Isle de Ludd’ and proceed to relocate all the ecophobic green liberal socialist bedwetters there. Simple ground rules include no nuke, coal, petroleum based energy production, and no CO2 emitting activities including fire. Predator drones manned from off-continent will carry heat-seeking missiles to demolish any attempt to violate these rules. If it ever gets too over-populated than we can negotiate a deal with the Russians to set up a secondary site in northern Siberia. Either that or we can simply relocate all the polar bears from the northern hemisphere to Antarctica where both they and the Luddites can form a symbiotic relationship.
  
  This is a win-win all the way around since we get to jettison much dead weight welfare fat and can proceed gathering fuels and generating electricity without their distractions. They get to enjoy mother nature in all her glory without the horrific influence and wanton destruction from us uneducated neanderthals. Best of all for the liberal leftist luddite is the extreme unlikelihood they will ever witness even a microscopic amount of global warming. Before long they would probably be thanking us.

This is nothing new. The Reverend William Sloan Coffin taught a generation that one’s conscience trumps the social contract. We are living the results of his efforts now.
