Maybe the sea level is rising because the certain parts of the earth is sinking? The earth could be simply changing its shape. I mean, if the north pole is sinking and creating a meltdown, then there would be the formation of earthquakes cracking east to west around the equator. Its a well-known fact that climate is always warmer in the lower altitudes. What if, the Earth behaves like a cup! Whether the Arctic IceCap is frozen or melted the water level theoretically will remain the same. MY EXPERIMENT was IF ICE MELTS IS THERE MORE WATER AFTER ITS MELTED OR NOT?
I PUT melted WATER (oceans) IN A GLASS. I marked the water-level (coastline) AND POURED the water INTO AN ICE CUBE TRAY (arctic cap). Once the water was frozen I returned those ice-cubes back into its original glass. This, IN CONCLUSION WILL PROVE TO ME, THAT IT’S THE CHANGING OF THE SHAPE OF THE EARTH, NAMELY THE RISING & sinking of the crust of the earth that’s CREATING the change in the coastline. WATER finds its own level.

The Earth is like a steam engine. A steam engine has a boiler and a condenser. Water evaporates in a steam boiler. Similarly, water evaporates at the equator to form water vapor. Wind then transports the vapor to Greenland where the vapor turns into snow. Less moisture being trapped at Greenland as ice proves that global cooling is occurring.
Greenand is heated mainly by condensation not by sunlight. For example, in winter it is almost totally dark in Greenland. Rising sea level proves that global cooling is happening. Global cooling results in less water vapor being transported to Greenland, for example, and so less snow at Greenland and at the North Pole.

‘Less moisture being trapped at Greenland as ice’ – how many years does it take for snow (deposited in Greenland) to turn into ice?
“Greenand is heated mainly by condensation” – could you explain? From wikipedia: “condensation is the change of the physical state of matter from gaseous phase into liquid phase”. Isn’t that happening in the clouds? Do you mean that the warmer air way above Greenland is also warming the ice on the island?
Finally, a trivia question – what transports heat better – air or ocean?

An experiment in a glass of water is not a valid model of the earth and the ice caps. Ice in Greenland and at the poles is land based. If you want a simple analogy perform this test (either in your mind or in your refer). Take a pan of water and place a flat rock in the middle of the pan…..with the rock protruding above the water. Now place a few cubes of ice on the rock and let them melt……will the water level change? That’s what is happening. …
I fear that many folks are striving to find ways to see the world to support their beliefs rather than using what we see to help us understand this complex and ever changing planet. Let’s not make the mistake of putting someone under house arrest because he/she is challenging our beliefs…..political……metaphysical….or religious. We are too good for such pettiness.
I hope you are joking. The ice in Greenland is glacial ice. If it melts it raises sea level. That is the entire point of Hansen scaring people about rising sea level.

On 15 July 1942 six P-38F’s and 2 B-17′s were forced down on the ice in Greenland. In 1992 a team of men went to Greenland to find and recover these airplanes. After MELTING down thru 268 FEET of ICE, that was not there in July 1942, as the airplanes landed on top of the ice, they found the flight of downed planes. They melted down thru the 268 feet of ice that had formed in the fifty years, and took apart one of the P-38F’s, serial number #41-7640. The plane was disassembled and lifted up 268 feet. The P-38F was restored and flies today as Glacier Girl, one of only 2 remaining P-38′s stilling flying. Now if 268 feet of ice has formed since 1942, when is global warming going to kick in? The research stations located on Greenland are on jacks so they can be RAISED to stay on top of new ICE formed from the snow that falls down, this is more then 268 feet now. These fact are public record, easily checked and are true, there in no warming melting ice on Greenland or really any place else. Stick that in you pipe AlGore.

You forget one thing: if a heavy object is put on ice and the ice is not too cold (as is the case near the edges of the Greenland inland ice), then the ice melts below the object and refreezes above it.
If you use a steel wire with a weight around a cube of ice, the steel wire sinks through the ice, without cutting the ice in parts…
Do you think the planes sunk through the ice? I doubt it. Airplanes aren’t all that dense, compared to ice. Airplanes will float unless they fill with water, and these planes probably weren’t filled with water.
It seems far more likely that the 268 feet of ice was simply 50 years of accumulated snowfall.

If I hear another numbty goofball state that the ice over the North Pole sits on land once again I’ll scream expletives.
The snow pack over Greenland is gaining 5.4cm per anum. Well, that’s the official figures but if you check out the latest photo’s of the DYE-2, a 5-6 storey tall early warning radar station that is almost totally subsumed into the ice after 40 years and many extensions in height, you’ll think its a lot faster.
I think goof balls provide a lot of entertainment.
So don’t start screaming when these folks reveal their ignorance of basic facts, break out the pop corn and kick back.
