According to the logic of the EPA and other climate science geniuses, glaciers melting is an indication that the temperature is rising.
I guess that means that an ice cube will not melt at 90F, if earlier in the afternoon it was 100F.

Of course glaciers can melt in a cooling world. The frozen heat has to be released somewhere.

I don’t think we talk about melting Glaciers it’s more about disappearing Glaciers in a Cooling World because of a lack of precipitation (snow).Mount Kilimanjaro is a good example.
As they say, we are coming out of the Little Ice Age, and full glaciation before that. So melt is to be expected, is only natural, not a product of the trumped up AGW.
But… with warmist propaganda and hype from the leftist MSM surrounding alleged runaway melting, it would stand to reason that we would have seen substantial sea level rise by now. But there’s been no discernible rise in sea level — over the last 40 years at least. None.

Eric, seawater is 80% of it below 4C degrees; water below 4C , when is warming up – is shrinking; when gets colder, then it expands. Fill up a bottle of seawater at 4C and put it in the freezer – the bottle will explode. Then fill up a bottle of seawater at zero decrees centigrade and warm it up by 3-4 degrees – the water will shrink by up to 5% (depends a bit on amount of impurity) Anyway, if that is 1km deep water, 5% is 50m shrinking if it gets warmer… how about that? IF THE SEAWATER GETS COLDER > THE SEA-LEVEL GOES UP!!!
During the last ice age – the sea-level was much higher than today for two reasons; 1] for that reason +2] for the reason that: the Mediterranean water system was almost empty. The amount of ice doesn’t depend on coldness, but on the amount of raw material to RENEW itself. Siberian permafrost is minus -50C; 50C BELOW freezing, but no ice. 2] If you look the topography; glaciers are on the lowest points – that’s where the geothermal heat is released – melts the ice from below – needs replenishing. If no moisture in the air – by freeze drying to replenish for the deficit= ends up with less ice. (by the way, ice can evaporate, without turning into liquid water first). If you put a cube of ice into a much COLDER space – can evaporate some.
The precursor of all evil is: misleading about ”colder and warmer years” instead of ”wetter and dryer years” There is NO such a thing as warmer and colder years overall – there is always warmer than normal and colder than normal areas/ or big part of a hemisphere. B] wetter year = more moisture in the air, some of that moisture goes where the glaciers are – by freeze-drying collects that moisture and replenishes itself – cannot replenish if is no moisture brought by the winds, from a distance.
Unfortunately, water vapour was declared as a GLOBAL warming gas – to support the misleading about CO2. Then when they changed from GLOBAL warming to ”climate change” they had to stick to their mythology that water vapour is bad for the climate / bad for vegetation / bad for ice…???!!! Just absolutely wrong. For instance, the earth gets most of it’s energy from the sun. The sun’s output is not a constant; it varies. During periods of higher solar output the earth ‘warms’ (compared to the mean). During periods of low solar output the earth cools. There are a thousand other reasons why this is wrong, I mention this because it’s the easiest to understand. (And I think it really needs to be simple for STD to understand.)

The sun is a big mass, doesn’t fluctuate in strength same as a small fire. 2] the temperature in the atmosphere is controlled by oxygen + nitrogen, expanding when they warm up – shrink when they cool. Troposphere can expand in an instant by 5km up – do you know the amount of extra coldness can intercept and redirect in few minutes from there? 3] When the moon, or Mercury, Venus gets between the sun and the earth – they reflect lots of sunlight, not to come to the ground – but it doesn’t get colder planet, even for one day, even for a millidegree.

There is no “cooling world”. The world is warming, and the proof of that warming is irrefutable.
Q 1: when you warm up oxygen + nitrogen by 6⁰C, why do they expand much more, than when you warm them by only 2⁰C, or even less on 0,5⁰C? A: because they need to increase the volume of the troposphere more, to intercept extra coldness, to equalize. Q 2: when you warm O+N for 20minutes, why they don’t shrink after 10 minutes? A: because they need to keep intercepting extra coldness and redirecting it down, as long as the troposphere is warmer, to keep the temperature overall in the atmosphere to be same. Q3: after 20 minutes if O+N cool to previous temperature; why they don’t stay expanded for another hour? A: if they did, they would have redirected enough extra coldness to freeze all the tropical rivers and lakes in a day. Q 4: can extra CO2 prevent oxygen and nitrogen of expanding? A: those two gases expand trough hi-tensile walls of a hand-grenade, when warmed.
Q 5: why O+N shrink when cooled, instead? A: to minimize exposure (shrinking the atmosphere) to intercept less coldness, until they get to previous temperature. It takes minutes only. That proves that ice age on both hemispheres simultaneously is impossible! Q 6: do those two gases expand when warmed / shrink when cooled; because they have nothing better to do, or they are regulating the heat in the atmosphere to be always the same?! Q 7: for the last 3 Januaries, when was record coldness in Europe /USA, why on the same dates was record heat in Australia? A:To balance. Same as children’s see-saw plank in the park.
