US government climate experts tell us that increased CO2 causes more extreme droughts, which is why they have declined 90% since 1934 in the US.
According to Australia’s top government expert, they have been in a permanent drought since 2008 – with 0.0% of the country experiencing drought.
This drought may never break
IT MAY be time to stop describing south-eastern Australia as gripped by drought and instead accept the extreme dry as permanent, one of the nation’s most senior weather experts warned yesterday.
“Perhaps we should call it our new climate,” said the Bureau of Meteorology’s head of climate analysis, David Jones.


Looks like there may be two tiny areas of Australia in the light pink. The first is in Victoria just east of Melbourne. The other is also on the Southern Ocean east of Esperence in Western Australia.
