The wind is currently blowing in at Wrigley Field (Cubs suck again, but that is a different story) from left-center, i.e. NNE at 9 mph.
The temp near the Chicago lakefront is currently 44.2 deg F, 51.3 deg NW of O’Hare where I live, and 54.9 deg in Aurora, IL which is SW of Chicago and where the official USHCN weather station for Chicago is located. What a joke that some people would extrapolate temps over 1200 km. Remember, land is flat out here, so the difference in temps has nothing to do with altitude. The temperature differential is due to air blowing over cold Lake Michigan. The farther inland you get, the warmer the surface temp is.
I’m freezing my butt off with approx. 10-deg below avg temps. Would Hansen care to adjust my temperature upward please?
