“one-degree might as-well be one-hundred degree”

Morons at the helm.

I don`t know if you are like me but lately within the past year or so since the concerns about Global Warming have taken a front seat in the news and media. I have been really thinking about how serious this subject is and the impact it will have on our kids and our grandchildren and generations to come.

The concern about Global Warming has been on the minds of scientist since the middle of the 20th century when the overall temperature of the Earth became about one-degree higher than the normal temperature. A one-degree rise in temperature doesn`t seem like very much bit when you are dealing with our planet and overall average temperatures, one-degree might as-well be one-hundred degree because the effects from just a one-degree rise in the Earth`s average temperature can have drastic effects on the environment.

    From the article:

“when the overall temperature of the Earth became about one-degree higher than the normal temperature.”

I apologize for my ignorance in advance, but what exactly is the “normal” temperature of the Earth? For all the entertaining time I spend on climate blogs and the sheer enjoyment of reading and researching this fascinating subject, I cannot recall ever seeing the normal Earth temperature cited.

    Thanks.

That would depend on which period you “Cherry Pick” to claim is the “Normal” Global Temperature. If you pick the last Billion Years we are colder than “Normal”. If you pick the last Million Years we are experiencing warmer than Normal, as for that period “Normal” is to cold to support our life styles and the current extent of civilization. For the last ten thousand years we are cooler than normal. Any periods less than 10KY only display long term weather variations on a regional basis.

“I currently have a Bachelor`s of Science degree in Business Management” – Ron G. Anselm

CAGW must be part of Ron’s “business model”.

“Business Science”, Yeah, he is qualified as an expert in climatology.
I just realized, he claims to have a B.S. degree and he displays his knowledge of throwing around B.S..

  3. Ocean Circulation: If you have ever been underway on any type of ocean bearing vessel then you have experience the strong wind currents out in the open ocean. These wind currents carry heat from the tropics to the poles.

Truly, a greater scientific mind has never been witnessed on this, or any other, planet.

Winds out on the open ocean! When did that start?
The opening para of the excerpt was enough to display his immense knowledge of Climatology. I did not follow the link.

It is all your fault that I read some parts of this article. But I had to stop when I learned that Tsunamis are weather patterns. I did not Know that! It is amazing how much you can learn from a B.S. expert.

An “ocean bearing vessel”? Man that is one mother ship!

It’s calle Psychosis, a loss of contact with reality, usually including false beliefs about what is taking place or who one is (delusions) and seeing or hearing things that aren’t there.

I did not know that “status quo “is a mental derangement, but some people seem to think their world has been at constant conditions since the beginning of time.

It must be nice to live in such a simple world. Imagine waking up in the morning, looking in the mirror, and have nothing to think of, at all. No synapse, nothing, a vacuum, and then you start your day.

  6. avatar GregO says:

“Some of the past statistical data that has changed when it comes to why Global Warming is now happening at a faster rate is the increase in certain chemicals and gasses in our atmosphere. Carbon Monoxide is the main gas that makes up our atmosphere and in the past 600,000 years or so the average parts per million of carbon monoxides averages around about 300 parts per million within that timeframe. Today the average parts per million has increased to over 450 parts per million which you can see is a significant increase.”

Ok Ok Ok Stop I just blew red wine up my nose.

Steven, where do you find these guys? My hat is off to you.

I wonder if this brainiac forgot to multiply by the square-root of pi or something.
