Biggest jump ever seen in global warming gases
By SETH BORENSTEIN AP Science Writer November 3, 2011 8:48PMWASHINGTON — The global output of heat-trapping carbon dioxide jumped by the biggest amount on record, the U.S. Department of Energy calculated, a sign of how feeble the world’s efforts are at slowing man-made global warming.
CO2 is increasing very quickly, but temperatures have been flat or down for almost 15 years. Someone with a functional brain might recognize that they need to mentally decouple CO2 from temperature.
“It’s a big jump,” said Tom Boden, director of the Energy Department’s Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center at Oak Ridge National Lab.
Boden said the latest figures put global emissions higher than the worst case projections from the climate panel. Those forecast global temperatures rising between 4 and 11 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century with the best estimate at 7.5 degrees.
Tom, if the trend so far this century continues – there will be zero degrees of warming by the end of the century. Why are you pulling nonsensical numbers out of your nether regions? You have no clue what the weather will be like next week, much less 90 years from now.
“Really dismaying,” said Granger Morgan, head of the engineering and public policy department at Carnegie Mellon University. “We are building up a horrible legacy for our children and grandchildren.”
Yes we are. Children are going to think that all scientists are either idiots, or criminals.
CO2 is increasing rapidly. Temperatures aren’t. If you made it past the first grade, try putting two and two together.
1. CO2 has increased more than ever before measured.
2. Temperatures have stayed the same or dropped.
3. ???
4. Profit!
I’m hypothesizing (3) is a research grant, but I need one myself to study this phenomenon.

For CO2 or any other gas to acquire a stable thermal gradient from a radiation field is quite impossible. Energy that gases acquire from any source cause free gases to flow, a fact fundamental to thermodynamics and even recognised by the great god Arrhenius; such a flow would tend to obliterate any incipient gradient, in fact all thermal gradients.
Fundamental defects in the arguments like this are among the many myths associated with AGW, the so called ‘science’ of AGW appears to exist quite independently of thermodynamics; it’s hardly surprising that it is proving rather difficult to find any evidence of AGW attributable to CO2.
But make no mistake, goverments live on such myths and the myth of CO2 caused AGW is just another way of keeping people in economic thrall (when have they done anything different?) and their supporters rich (when have they done anything different?) .
Don’t you know? Lack of correlation does not equal lack of causation.
In the face of these realities, three fantasies will be more frequently cited:
1) “Heat in the pipeline” (Hansen)
2) “Thousand-year residence time of CO2 in the atmosphere” (Solomon)
3) “Missing heat in the deep oceans” (Trenberth)
4) “Carbon (dioxide) is pollution!!” (too numerous to name)
That’s why you need to fund a superior intellectual class of climate gurus. They can see things with models that you’re too dumb to see with your own eyes.
5) Outer space isn’t as absorbent as it used to be.
