BBC 1997 : One Metre Sea Level Rise By 2037 – Countries To Disappear

The best models we have predict a range of effects on climate as the Earth warms up. The biggest global effect will be a rise in sea level – warmer water simply takes up more room, and some of the world’s ice will melt.

The seas could rise by up to a metre in 30 or 40 years’ time. That might not sound much but it could lead to whole nations disappearing beneath the waves.

“Not all scientists believe in the greenhouse effect.”

Is Richard Black this stupid via genetics, did he have brain surgery that reduced thinking capacity or did he attend a special twit academy to learn hoe to be this stupid?

  2. avatar Andy WeissDC says:

If that were going to happen, wouldn’t there be some sign of it by now?

  3. avatar Major Mike says:

Since we’ve gone 35% of the way from 1997 to 2037, sea level should have risen about 14 inches so far, instead of two inches plus or minus two inches. That means for the next 26 years the annual rate will have to jump from 2 mm/year to 38 mm/year. Since recently the rate has been less than 2 mm/year, and has even been negative, something needs to happen very quickly to go plus one meter by 2037. The only forces that can cause such acceleration are known only in the mind of man, not in his science, and are either aliens or deities. That means that the BBC places its faith on alien intervention, because their prediction is un-Godly.
