… he says, linking to a graph that’s a week out of date, but which nevertheless shows 2011 as growing slower than 2004, and equal to 2010. In what world is that a new record?
Moreover, the Bremen graph shows the rate of change averaged over a whole month. The figure for 4th October thus averages over essentially the whole of September: i.e. from before the minimum through to after it. You’re thus averaging across part of the melt season and part of the re-freeze, making the figure itself difficult to interpret.
I wonder why you picked that graph? Is it because both NORSEX and DMI show the re-freeze flatlining?

A one day glitch is flatlining?
Of course. Because we’re measuring climate change in days now. Means when there’s snow tomorrow, climate change must be a hoax… LOL
Whether or not the ice is or is not growing slightly faster or slightly slower than it has in the last 32 years is not NEWS. The news is, there is very little change, and we have only been measuring it for less than 0.0000001% of history. The other news is, glaciers started regressing in the late 18th century as documented by Muir, but not all are, and quite a few are progressing.
Statistics are boring. Change is interesting. Change that is been repeated many many times in history is not change at all, but any non-technical audience, unfamiliar with the rules of data, will not know this.
This is the only reason anyone has ever heard of James Hansen, may his name live in infamy……
La
You won’t hear a peep out of global warmers about this. But if there was a record decline in melt season…….
Stop worrying- the post analysis will always show “worse than we thought”.
sarc
Wow. We all can see a “record”… since 2003. Therefore global warming must be a hoax…
Oh Lord, let rain some brain!
What a “recovery” => http://climatecomments.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/spiomasicevolumeanomalycurrentv21.png?w=409&h=298
The PIOMAS trend clearly shows an ice-free Arctic in 2015. How much money are you willing to bet on that?
Oh wait, I forgot that you aren’t allowed to think for yourself.
Come on, Steven Coward. We had that before.

[Charlie,
You are a genuine, bona fide idiot.

Thanks for your email, Steven Coward. And thanks for keeping up your crap website.
You know, you might impress a shrinking minority in your country. But here in Europe you’re nothing but a laugh. We actually take your blog site as an example how climate change deniers are misleading the public. That’s stuff for our second graders.
How many more times you want me to make you to correct your headlines?
“Real Science” LOL
Charlie,
I just want your brain function to improve.
