One of Nobel Laureate Al Gore’s favorite scams is to use Vostok, Antarctica ice cores to try to prove that CO2 drives temperature in Antarctica through the past few glacial cycles.
There was a little problem with this though, because the CO2 changes occurred hundreds of years after the temperature changes. Undaunted by any conscience or sense of integrity, Nobel laureate’ Gore’s sidekick and children’s author Laurie David simply reversed the data to make it appear that CO2 drove the temperatures. (Lying to children for the good of the planet.)

Looking at the recent data, we know that CO2 has increased dramatically. (See the top graph above.) So if CO2 actually drove temperatures in Antarctica, we would be seeing a large increase in temperatures.
But unfortunately for climate fraudsters Al Gore and Laurie David, temperatures in Antarctica have declined, while CO2 has gone through the roof. CO2 does not drive temperature, period. Stop lying about it, Al Gore.

“Looking at the recent data, we know that CO2 has increased dramatically. ”
This part is bogus as it is recognized that Antarctic ice cores are not empirical. They may show trends but not actual CO2 concentrations. Jaworowski, the world’s authority on ice cores, thinks that 30–50% of CO2 is lost during core retrieval. Back calculating the losses brings old readings up to today’s concentrations and even higher!
Ernst Beck gathered together 80,000 direct CO2 chemical bottle readings form the last 200 years and was able to show that CO2 has been higher than now during three periods of the last 200 years, most recently in the 1940s. The IPCC refuses to accept that direct readings might be better than indirect, ice cores. Gee, I wonder why!
Tacking the current CO2 readings onto ice core data is dishonest and misleading. This is how the AGW crowd operates, mixing unrelated data sets.
Looks like 2011 will be the first year not to get above zero
