Other than the bullseye of drought over Katherine Hayhoe, most of Texas is having a very wet year.

This is 54-55 all over again. I called for a major Texas drought for 2011 twice on National TV ( FBN ) in sep 2010 and Dec. Why, because the pattern is like it back in the 50s when the PDO flipped to cold and 1954 was brutal in the plains, but centered further north than the one in 2011..Even the hurricanes up the east coast, and the anchorage snow record were similar to that year. AND TRUE TO THE 54-55 analog for Texas, 55 turned wet.

Dessler is absurd. 5 years ago I put out statement calling for dry weather through out the south when the pdo started flipping. There is a logical explanation, the drop in Pacific water temps leads to less rain in Texas They are deceitful or ignorant, because the 25 years before with the warm pdo and frequent el ninos, and yes the trend up in the globl temps because of the warming pacific, it WAS WET IN TEXAS. A warming planet is wetter in the south. THEY ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF TOUCH as the cooling that has begun because of the PDO was forecasted well in advance to lead to drier conditions.

There is no end to their ignorance and I am frankly amazed they let Obama out there without warning him what was coming down the road from the 54-55 pendulum, since a bunch of us that actually look at the weather had our clients warned in about this pattern

BTW Andy, get ready a nasty US winter is on the way and Texas will share in it

I believe July 1955 is still Chicago’s all time hottest month. It was a very hot summer over the eastern half of the US. Then there were Hurricanes Connie and Diane in Aug 1955 that caused disastrous flooding in the Northeast. Joe, are you expecting a similar type of summer?

The climatologists are out of their league because they do not understand long term weather patterns. Those that fail to learn from history will repeat the mistakes that were made in the past. Dessler is a good example.
Romm is a useful fool for someone.
