WORLD GETS WARMER IN LAST 50 YEARS
The world was gradually growing warmer and warmer as shown by the ”melting of ice fields, migration of birds” and animals and the northward march of plant life,”
almost all glaciers—man’s most sensitive thermometers of climate— in the Northern Hemisphere, and some in the Southern, were receding. This “glacier recession” had been observed in Scandinavia, the Alps, Iceland and North America. Similar melting down had been reported from New Zealand, Asia Minor and South America.
Dr. Hansen now removes temperature records which show Arctic warming during this period, because he considers them suspicious.
Winston Smith works as a clerk in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth, where his job is to rewrite historical documents so they match the constantly changing current party line.
