A new Manhattan of ice is being born every three minutes!

During the same five day period in 2007, the Arctic lost 2,000 Manhattans of ice. Bremen doesn’t seem to be able to distinguish the difference.

BUT there is no ice listed for 9-15 to 12-31! How do we know what it will do if they do not tell us what to expect? ;)

Maybe have added a few Brooklyns as well.

    Whistling past the graveyard?

    How many Bremens is that?
    Bremen is 326.73 km2 (126.15 sq mi)

Proves that the enemy of my enemy is not my friend. Gore will be disappointed that what he says he wants is actually happening (the end of global warming), but this is very bad news for the rest of mankind, which now that the sun has gone quiet faces the likelihood of substantial global cooling. Unlike warming, cooling is actually dangerous, and entails feedback effects that really can run away, regularly plunging the planet into 100,000 year long glacial periods. Being buried under a mile of ice is bad for people and other living things.

To be technical about it, albedo feedbacks in the warming direction shrink as they proceed, with snow and ice melt retreating to higher and higher latitudes that both cover progressively less area and where the sun hits less and less directly. Albedo feedbacks in the cooling direction cause snow and ice to descend to lower latitudes where the surface area is vast and where the sun that gets reflected away is coming in at progressively steeper angles (in effect, more of it).

Passing the crest of the Modern Warm Period heralds a perilous time for mankind. We should be building sooty coal plants all across the great white north (non sooty in summer) to try to get some mitigation.

No matter what the alarmists predict, planet Earth stubbornly refuses to cooperate. No warming for the past 13 years, Arctic ice no lower than it was in 2007, and Antarctic ice growing for the past 30 years. Will someone teach Earth what it should be doing. This is embarrassing.

Steve, you’re beginning to slice your cherries.

      WOW!
You bring Fairy Tales to the discussion!
Would that be the most accurate Global Ice “Volume” or just the Northern Hemisphere Ice “Volume”. Maybe you are just wanting to introduce the Volume of the Icebergs floating around in the Arctic Ocean. I was wondering how they determine Volume! Like is it based on weight and the used a scale to weigh the ice? Did they gather it all and put it in a large beaker? Most likely they made a wild A$$ Guess and put a bunch of meaningless numbers in a computer so it would spit out the desired answer! GIGO RULES!
