WASHINGTON — It’s been so warm in the United States this year, especially in March, that national records weren’t just broken, they were deep-fried.
This statement is blatantly false, as I will show below.
The magnitude of how unusual the year has been in the U.S. has alarmed some meteorologists who have warned about global warming. One climate scientist said it’s the weather equivalent of a baseball player on steroids, with old records obliterated.
“Everybody has this uneasy feeling. This is weird. This is not good,” said Jerry Meehl, a climate scientist who specializes in extreme weather at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo. “It’s a guilty pleasure. You’re out enjoying this nice March weather, but you know it’s not a good thing.”
I have been freezing my butt off coaching soccer in Colorado in cold March weather for the last six years. Finally we have a nice spring and Jerry feels guilty.
“When you look at what’s happened in March this year, it’s beyond unbelievable,” said University of Victoria climate scientist Andrew Weaver.
Normally, March averages 42.5 degrees across the country. This year, the average was 51.1, which is closer to the average for April. Only one other time — in January 2006 — was the country as a whole that much hotter than normal for an entire month.

Spectacularly dishonest and intended to mislead. March, 2012 was barely warmer than March 1910.

But it is worse than it seems. USHCN adds almost 0.6 degrees on to current temperatures, and subtracts from older temperatures. Without the adjustments, 2012 would be in a dead tie with 1910.

Now, as for the claim about anomalous warmth for an entire month- January 1880 was probably warmer in the US. HadCRUT showed most of the US 5-8C (8-14F) above normal.
We have heard endless hyperbole about “a whole new atmposphere” etc. It is all complete nonsense. It has happened before, when CO2 was below 300 ppm, and has nothing to do with CO2.
The Associated Press threw in one semi-honest paragaraph.

Alaska and western Canada were very cold in March. They make up half of North America. Parts of Siberia averaged -36C during March.

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Hansen and friends now say the more uncertainities there are, the more danger exists and of course, all the “loading the dice” and “if 10% of the IPCC is accurate”. Climate science has now become a frigging crap game. Yes, by all means, roll the dice. It will be just as accurate as anything else coming out of the “climate casino.” The semi-honest scientists need to start backing out of this farce. When it collapses, there will be a LOT of angry people. I notice a lot of the more amateur “doomers” don’t even grasp their own theory. They talk and talk about CO2 but never mention water vapor or how this mechanism of tipping points could exist in reality. Everything is an assumption of something else which builds on another assumption and the tipping point is the runaway assumptions, exaggerations, lies, adjustments, propaganda and misleading information. The end result of this runaway will be a huge explosion of bullshit splattered for everyone to see in a last minute attempt to save themselves from “cooking to death” in a firey embarrassment.
Instead of rolling dice, they should just check the record of predictions, projections, or swags. Has anyone ever been right on any disaster? I mean, the ozone hole is still coming and going and haven’t heard of any disasters.
Yep, I thought something was wrong with this nice weather, because this Tues and Wed. night, in Mid-TN, we are expecting temps down to 36 with patchy frost. This happened in ’06 and really set-back some plants. I have strawberries about the size of a pinky finger and Pineapple Sage, which I need to cover. The last frost is coming right on time. It just faked us out with a month or so of warm weather. Standing by for the reports on this “disasterous” weather event and cold weather from Revkin and Meehl. Where did our CO2 cover go??
