I remember this story. I was living in Germany at the time and on trips to the Alps, we often heard about the conerns over glacial rebound. Villagers would show us photos that documented the progress of nearby glaciers that they feared would soon threaten their homes and farms. Even with that palpable threat, I considered the idea of covering the arctic in soot as more than a little ridiculous. At a young man I already understood that nature will take its course, and will not consider us in the least.

Tampering with natural cycles is like pissing in the wind, it’s going in the wrong direction, and clearly illustrates that the promoters are all wet.

      Hey Gator,

I was in Germany from 1972 to 1975 – there were a couple of very cold winters and I remember all the huff and puff over the impending ice age.

Ah the good old ’70s when Ehrlich and Holdren were holding forth on the immanent population explosion and resulting catastrophic starvation and the ice age was absolutely certain. The good old days.

So things haven’t changed in over 25 years.. Some nutcases want to try and re-engineer the climate.

At least they had a growing and real concern back then…cold!
