Hansen says the 1970s were much warmer than the 1920s, so he seems to be implying that polar amplification used to be a large magnitude negative number – before it became a large positive number. Hansen is telling us that the Arctic cooled dramatically from 1920 – 1970, while the globe heated. Completely FOS.
