1915 : Galveston Hit By Their Second Category 4 Hurricane In 15 Years

In 1900, Galveston was hit by a category 4 hurricane, which flattened the island and killed 8,000 people. In 1915, another category 4 hurricane hit Galveston.

The US has had only one category 4 or higher hurricane strike during the last 18 years – Charley in 2004.
